The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) has updated its certification procedure for CCTV cameras, introducing a key distinction between analog and non-analog models.<\/p>\n

Key points are as follows:<\/b><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. For Analog CCTV Cameras:<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Analog models are exempt<\/b> from the new “Essential Requirements for the Security of CCTV” (ER 01:2024).<\/p>\n

    For existing, licensed analog cameras, manufacturers must submit a self-declaration<\/b> by April 9, 2025<\/b>.<\/p>\n

    Failure to submit this declaration by the deadline will result in the cancellation of the license for that specific model.<\/p>\n

      \n
    1. For Non-Analog (e.g., IP) CCTV Cameras:<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      All non-analog models must comply with both IS 13252-1 and the new ER 01:2024<\/b>.<\/p>\n

      Compliance with ER 01:2024 will become mandatory<\/b> for all non-analog CCTV products starting April 9, 2025<\/b>, to enhance cybersecurity.<\/p>\n

      Manufacturers who already hold a license under IS 13252 (Part 1) for non-analog products must complete compliance testing for ER 01:2024 and upload the new test reports by this deadline.<\/p>\n

      1. General Requirements & Consequences:<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        All future CCTV test reports submitted to BIS must clearly state whether the model is of an analog or non-analog<\/b> type.<\/p>\n

        After the deadline, any non-compliant models will be removed from the license list. If a manufacturer fails to take timely action or if none of their models comply with the new requirements, their entire BIS certificate may be at risk of cancellation.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
