The Federal Telecommunications Institute (IFETEL) in Mexico announced on June 16, 2025, that the effective date for the Guidelines for the Use of the IFT Certification Seal (IFT Seal) has been postponed from July 1, 2025, to July 1, 2027.
IFETEL had previously released the Guidelines for the Use of the IFT Label on December 26, 2023. This was a significant update for manufacturers and distributors in the telecommunications and broadcasting sectors. The certification guidelines regulate the certification process for telecom and broadcast products, including all devices that can connect to a telecommunications network or use the radio spectrum. A major change in the new guidelines was the introduction of the IFT Label, a mark used to identify certified products.
The key requirements for the IFT Label are as follows:
Color and Print Requirements: The IFT mark must be printed in 100% solid color, black, or 100% reverse black, and must adhere to the requirements for the protection area and minimum print size.
Visibility and Clarity: The mark should be clearly visible and easy for users to identify.
Identification and Certification: The uppercase letters “IFT” and the certification number must be displayed next to the IFT mark.
